Update: September 14th - Addresses and Special Items

Hello Captains.
Welcome back to another update post for Leviathans: The Great War.
The last two weeks I’ve been busy traveling, going to both Pax West in Seattle and the Alliance Open House in Indiana. The Open House was a convention where many different brick and mortar game stores looked at our product. We were showing off Leviathans there, and got a lot of great attention for it. A large number of retailers were already asking when they could get the game into their stores, which was great to hear.
As for progress over the last two weeks, planes have entered wider play testing, with fantastic feedback. The full rules for planes will be available to read before fulfillment, once all of the playtesting is complete.
I also have to show off the orthographic work for the 4 Russian ships we have shown off before.
And here are 2 new pieces of ship art nearly finished. Both ships will be talked about in more detail later, but I wanted to show them off now.

As discussed last time, I want to go over addresses and special information for the Kickstarter fulfillment.
Address for shipping
A survey will be sent out when the pledge manager is completely set up that, among other things, will ask for your address. We will send out reminders, but, it is of course important to do this as soon as you can, or we can not get your product to you. Your address can be changed after submitting this up until a final cut off day where we actually prepare for shipping. While I do not have an exact day yet, we will inform everyone ahead of time for this.
If you have specific questions about shipping, please wait until the survey is out and then contact us, and we will work with you to make sure you get your game.
Special Details
For those with either a unique Ship Card design or a Character Illustration, you will be emailed when the pledge manager is up with the details on creating your character or ship. You are also free to email me at [email protected] to start working on this sooner if you wish.
Both the unique ship cards and art will be done differently then the rest of the product manufacturing, so do not worry if your item is not finished by the time the pledge manager closes, as it will still get to you by fulfillment.
Pledge manager
Finally, as an update, our goal is still to have the pledge manager up by the end of this month. Next week I will have a more exact day on when this will happen, so people can look forward to that.

I hope everyone has had a good week.
After taking a couple days off we've gone right into full swing, getting everything running to get Leviathans into your hands.
With that are the big questions.
What exactly are we doing with the funds you have given us and when can you expect to see these beautiful ships in your hands? I will answer both of these and others.
Ship Art
One of the first things we are doing is getting the rest of the ships created with both our color and orthographic artists. In total we have 16 more ships to design before then can be turned into STLs for the manufactory to use. As we get these in we will share them here so you don't have to wait and find out what they will look like.
STLs and Molds
After the art is done we then make the STLs from that art. From there those STLs are turned over to manufacturing for Mold production.
I will actually share some of this process in a future update
Just like the Art, we will share STL images as well as Final models as they are made.
Plane and Campaign Rules
Both planes and Campaign rules are the last playtest section we are working on. The following is the current schedule:
- 8/31/2022 (Wednesday): Plane rules go out for playtesting.
- Mid October: Campaign rules go out for playtesting
- End of November: Playtesting closes
- End of December: A complete set of the rules will be made available with the Planes included. Parts of the Campaign rules will also be shared.
The Pledge Manager
We’re working on the pledge manager right now. The current goal is to have it finished before the end of September. We will update you on its progress each week. The pledge manager will allow the following:
- Pick exactly which ships will be in your pledge
- Add new items to your pledge
- Create a whole new pledge
The pledge manager will be open until mid December. An exact date will be provided when we get closer.
Shipping date
The big question: when do we all get the game. The goal we are working hard for is to have everything shipping out to backers by September of 2023. This of course depends on many factors, especially the world shipping situation which at this time is still very volatile. We will do everything we can to let you know changes in this date as we find out.
Information on Shipping costs are not ready yet, but we will inform you when we are able to.
Tabletop Simulator
As was mentioned during the campaign, we are starting work on a Tabletop Simulator port for Leviathans. This will be available to backers so that you may play the game before the delivery date.
The plan for this is as follows:
- End of October: Have a playtest version for the current playtesters to use. This will just be the Starter Box material
- End of November: Give everyone access to the Starter Box version
- End of December: Have a fully playable German and French 1000pt version for everyone.
This is the current timeline. We will do our best to keep you up to date on our progress. Going into 2023 we plan to have all factions and ships in before fulfillment. This is lower on our priority however, so this is the most likely to experience delays.
Questions for Catalyst
Going forward, we are directing everyone to email the following address for questions about the Kickstarter. This will be the most consistent way to get your questions answered. Both the Discord and this Kickstarter page will be looked at but responses may not always come or they may be delayed.

Our employee there will answer questions there about the Pledge manager, shipping or product details. If he needs to ask others in the company for an answer it might take a little longer to get a response but he will get back to you as soon as he can.
Questions about the universe or fiction should be directed to the Discord or monstersinthesky.com.
I will repost this email after updates often so that people will always have easy access to it.
Future Updates
At least once ever two weeks between now and delivery of the product, I will post a status update. In the case of Convention travel interruptions, I will inform you the week before.
Few will be as detailed as this one but they will always say a minimum if things are on track or if we have something new to share (like the art or Models).
The next update we will go over getting us both address information as well as special info if you are designing a ship or Character Illustration.

600k: The world at war

This is truly amazing and a bit humbling. With an amazing last day we just hit 600k, thus unlocking 1 Cruiser for each of the three other Major Powers of the World.
All of these factions will have a wider release in the future but these 3 ships will allow you to get a taste of their playstyles.
The Japanese Cruiser will bring a head first gun boat with the unique ability to Combine saturation guns (large shots) together for some very powerful volleys.
The America Cruiser will show off some Edison technology as well as the secretive TED cannon, able to destroy Tesla coils on enemy ships.
And finally the Austral-hungarian Cruiser will come equipped with a Ram slot, allowing it to crash into enemy Leviathans at full speed.
Before the Pledge manager closes Ship cards will be shown for each of these ships.

There it is!
623k and over 2100 backers. Truly an amazing outpouring of support and love, especially in the last 48 hours.
After 10 years Leviathans is finally back. That just feels so good to say.
Later this week we will have a post about what comes next but for now we are all celebrating and catching up on some sleep after this fantastic campaign.
Truly, thank you all for all our support and we can't wait to start right away on getting all of these amazing ships and this amazing world into your hands.

575 unlocked: A new Captain

The British unique paint Scheme Cruiser has entered the fray.
This model will be a little different from the other two as its Captain will not be based on a WW1 Ace. Instead, the Captain of this ship will be a Leviathans created character. Amil Dhar, an Indian ship Captain who will be a main character in the Novel Trilogy. He will of course have his own Ship Captain card, this one centered around getting more performance out of his crew.
The Paint scheme will be based on a more Indian design.
So Close to the end now. Getting the Live stream set up as I type this.
